I love a good coffee table book, but hate spending upwards of $100+ just to furnish a bookshelf with a few stacks of books…

Here are three things to focus on if your goal is a calm space that still feels homey and cozy! ✨

— Layer lighting. Avoid using harsh overhead lights at night and place lamps, candles, even an electric fireplace or two around your home for an immediate cozy ambiance.

— Keep colors neutral, but don’t forget about textures! I love a jute or wool rug as a base and woven or wood accents are an easy way to bring warmth and visual interest to a neutral space.

— Add curtains if you haven’t already! Curtains are the easiest, quickest way to make a space feel complete.
